Fully Guided

A fully guided hunt is an all-encompassing wilderness hunting experience.  All you need to do is show up with your personal gear and weapon. Every outfitter has a different definition of what a guided hunt is. Below are the services and amenities you can expect on a guided hunt with Action Adventures.

Action Adventures will provide transportation for you and your gear to and from camp. You have the option to be picked up in Montrose, Colorado and driven to the trailhead, or meet us there. If you elect to drive to the trailhead, a high clearance four wheel drive vehicle is recommended. Once at the trailhead, you and your gear will be packed into camp on horseback.

Our camps are located within the Uncompahgre Wilderness. Camp is comprised of a wall tent with cots to sleep on, and wood or propane for heat. You will be provided a hot breakfast, a sack lunch with snacks, and a hot dinner.

All rates advertised are for a 2×1 style hunt, two hunters will be provided one guide to share. 1×1 hunts are available for an extra cost, each hunter will be provided their own guide. Guides will assist you with getting to and from hunting locations, help navigate terrain, and aid in locating game. Guides will be responsible for caring for livestock and tack.

Even though, you are on a guided hunt, you are still responsible to put in effort to have a successful hunt. Your guide knows the area and has experience in the game patterns and movements. You have hired a guide to help you navigate the area and utilize his knowledge of the area and game patterns. Guides are not Sherpas! You will have to carry your own pack and weapon. Your guide will put forth maximum effort to help you be successful, but there are no guarantees that you will successfully harvest an animal. It is important to inform your guide of your abilities ie: shooting, climbing, etc. It is customary to tip your guide. Industry standard is 10% of the cost of the hunt.

If you harvest an animal, your guide will field dress the animal and make it ready for transportation. Let your guide know how you would like the trophy handled: Shoulder Mount, Skull Mount, European Mount, etc. Meat and trophy will be transported to a taxidermist and meat locker in Montrose, Colorado. The meat can be hung to cool, or cut, wrapped, and frozen for you to take home, or ship.  Any third-party processing or taxidermy fees are your responsibility.

There is no cellular phone service in our hunting areas. There will be a satellite phone in camp for emergencies.
